Child, 9, riding in bed of pickup truck injured in crash

A 9-year-old child riding in the bed of a pickup truck was injured late Thursday night when the pickup hit a utility pole near a driveway in Cape May County, authorities said.
The crash took place at 11:45 p.m. when the driver was backing out of a driveway on Hagen Road in Dennis Township, State Police said.
Officials didn’t describe the nature of the child’s injuries except to say they are not considered life-threatening.
No charges have been filed and the crash remains under investigation.
